Album Review - Satsuki APOCALYPSE & ECLIPSE

Release date: 19 March 2016.

Info:

[EPOCALIPSE] is divided in 2 pieces : [ECLIPSE] & [APOCALYPSE].

[ECLIPSE] is the « past » and the « present » of Satsuki.

With [APOCALYPSE], Satsuki will show us a new side of his personality, new approaches on his way of using his technical vocal skills. He worked for the first time with European producers (ENOS IS BACK) in order to give a new vibe to his songs and that particular « progressive metal » touch. This opus can be considered as a new era for Satsuki, the « future ».

Review

Both the cd's Apocalypse and Eclipse are very strong cd's with a precense that screams "I am here and listen" in a way that entrances you to actually listen, and enjoy what you are hearing.

The cd's vary in styles quite alot, but when listened to you can still make out Satsuki his amazing style. Eclipse is still in the 'usual' style, being Visual Kei, where Apocalypse suddenly takes the heavy metal turn, and it is a twist that certainly fits Satsuki very well.

First I will discuss Eclipse, which is the album with most songs being:

  • Berserker

  • Eclipse

  • Crying

  • Artemis

  • Selene

  • Lily

  • Squall

  • Brave

  • Diana

My personal favourite is Lily due to the strong instrumental and his voice coming out rougher than usual, troughout the whole album you can feel him reach up to the deepest strength inside of himself to make this effect happen, which benefits him greatly in his music.

And even though it's a new album, a new tour and experiment with a new style, the link to past albums is still there which makes sure that even fans who are not used to this from Satsuki can enjoy it to the fullest.

next up is Apocalypse, the heavy metal album that I personally prefer the most with the album including:

  • Reincarnation

  • Apocalypse

  • Burning out

  • Revelation

Here my personal favourite is Burning out, the whole song is really catchy and actually got stuck to me for at least a week. This whole album is like an energy shock you can feel until your fingertips, every single part of your body enjoys, even if it's just bobbing your head along to the music.

All in all Satsuki has definitely succeeded to impress his fans with these new albums and tour, let's all look forward to what's to come in the future and support Satsuki together!

Thank you for reading!
